Valley Breeze: Neighbors push back on 44-unit Breakneck Hollow project
LINCOLN - Standing at the end of his driveway, Michael Conway watches cars exit Route 146 onto Breakneck Hill Road. Many drivers slow down at the end of the ramp, but never stop, turning right and zooming past Conway and the MacColl YMCA across the street.
He points to a patch of land between the highway and the driveway.
“That's where they want to put a bus stop,” he said, referencing developers who hope to build two apartment buildings near his property at 35 Breakneck Hill Road.
Conway is one of many abutters who is concerned about safety if the development moves forward.
The project by Women's Development Corp., marketed as Breakneck Hollow, calls for 44 units of low-income and moderate-income housing on a 12-acre parcel between Route 146 and the Stone Creek condo complex.
