The Block Island Times: Applications being accepted for church apartments

The following was submitted by the Board of Trustees of the Harbor Church:

The process to apply for one of the four apartments currently under construction on the third floor of the Harbor Church has opened. These apartments are being offered under the “affordable housing” provision of the Town of New Shoreham zoning ordinances. These ordinances utilize Rhode Island state guidelines for maximum income. Qualified applicants, if more than four, will be entered into a lottery, projected to be held in late November.

Physical Descriptions:

The four apartments are completely remodeled within the exterior walls of the church building. Each apartment is approximately 400 square feet with a separate bedroom, complete bathroom with shower, and an apartment-scaled kitchen, including dishwasher, stove, refrigerator and microwave, set within brand new hardwood cabinets. Each apartment has a slightly different floor plan. Three apartments have direct ocean views! Access to the apartments is obtained by ascending two flights of stairs within the main church building or externally on the south west corner of the church building.
