ProJo: Hundreds in R.I. face eviction with moratorium expired

PROVIDENCE -- Never has the value of housing been more clear. In a matter of weeks, homes and apartments were transformed into classrooms, workplaces, and safe havens as Rhode Islanders sheltered in place to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.

But never has housing been more at risk for some of the most vulnerable Rhode Islanders, those in the state's urban areas hardest hit by staggering unemployment and cases of the fast-spreading coronavirus.
