Newport Daily News: Portsmouth to explore creating housing at two school properties, plus a new senior center

PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Town Council Monday night unanimously approved a memorandum of understanding with the Church Community Housing Corp. to develop a plan to create a new senior center and housing units at the former Anne Hutchinson School on Bristol Ferry Road.
The former school, which now serves as the Portsmouth Multi-Purpose Senior Center, must be vacated by June 30 because of the poor condition of the 95-year-old building.
