Success Story: Miguel Escobedo

After Miguel Escobedo was injured in a fall down some stairs, he struggled to make ends meet.

He found success after taking the Culinary Training course at Amos House. The course, supported by LISC's SNAP Employment and Training Program, helped him find a job and get back on track.

Financial Literacy Takes Center stage with the Treasurer's Financial Empowerment Roundtable

The Financial Empowerment Roundtable, launched by Treasurer Magaziner, brings together government, non-profits, educators, businesses, and bankers to network and share ideas on ways to improve financial stability among Rhode Islanders.

LISC Rhode Island was one of the first groups to share the successes of our Financial Opportunity Center and Bridges to Career Opportunity models, and highlights from LISC's SNAP Employment and Training Program which provides education, training and support programs for SNAP participants.
