Jamestown Press: Downtown housing development plan hearing is delayed once again

For the second consecutive time, the development team for Stuart Sanderson, which is proposing 19 housing units at 70 and 78 Narragansett Ave., has requested a continuance before the planning commission.

Attorney Deb Foppert said her client will not be ready for the Aug. 7 meeting, which was rescheduled from July 17.

Sanderson's application is asking permission to redevelop the lots into a single 1.1-acre lot. The 19 units, including five earmarked for affordable housing, would be divided among four structures.

The existing structure at the westernmost boundary at 78 Narragansett Ave. would be renovated to accommodate three units.
