Providence (East Side) at a Glance:
The East Side of Providence is a collection of several neighborhoods in the city's north eastern side, east of Rt. 95 and north of Rt. 195. This area includes the neighborhoods of Blackstone, Hope (commonly known as Summit), Mount Hope, College Hill, Wayland and Fox Point. Roger Williams founded Providence along what is now known as College Hill. As such, the East Side includes some of the oldest sections of the city.
